Reading the Night Sky: Indigenous Knowledge & Sustainability

Step into the world of the night sky and discover how the first astronomers of this land read the stars for over 65,000 years!

Join Traditional Owner Kai as he shares how First Nations peoples have used the night sky to forecast weather, track seasonal changes and care for Country. Through storytelling and guided observation, students will learn:

  • how the stars have long been used to understand seasonal changes and natural cycles
  • how to identify constellations such as Tchingal, the Emu, alongside other native animals.
  • the role of stars in caring for the environment
  • how to live sustainably through deep knowledge of Country

What’s included:

  • All materials
  • First Nations representative led session (1 hour, max. 25 students)
