Junior Rangers School Holiday Program – Lake Meran
Join us for a free, fun-filled day of hands-on environmental and cultural learning at Lake Meran, northern Victoria! We are offering four interactive workshops throughout the day, exploring local wildlife, conservation and cultural heritage. We recommend booking into all workshops to enjoy the full Junior Rangers experience! Suitable for children of all ages.
Bush Walk – Flora and Fauna Survey
Explore the natural environment of Lake Meran while learning how to identify local plants and wildlife. Children will conduct a real flora and fauna survey, discovering the importance of biodiversity and habitat conservation.
Animal Tracks Workshop
Become a wildlife detective and learn how to identify animal tracks and signs. Discover which animals live around Lake Meran and how tracks can tell us fascinating stories about their behaviour and movements.
Freshwater Turtle Workshop
Learn about Victoria’s native freshwater turtles, the challenges they face and how communities can help protect them. Children will gain hands-on conservation knowledge and explore turtle habitats around the lake.
Cultural Heritage Session
Connect with Country through an engaging cultural heritage session. Children will learn about Aboriginal culture, traditional ecological knowledge, storytelling and the deep connections between people, wildlife and the landscape.
